In the second world war someone left a burning lancaster without a parrechute at over 1000ft and suvived the germans who captured him even gave him a certificate for the world record of the highest fall without a parechute and surviving

Not necessarily. There been a few who survived by landing in fir trees and or snow banks.

Reminds me of the ex SAS soldier who turned to his girlfriend (who was the Pilot), told her he had had enough of life and then jumped.
