Passive radar on aircraft?

I have a question. I think everyone knows about the passive radar systems used by various countries to track aircraft, by using the the background radation from various sources. (I don’t know the proper name for it) My question is:

Is it possible to use this system on a fighter to track and engage aircraft? And if so….. Fill in the blanks 😀
