Must have been a great 6 years.
Coming up to 20 years with involvement off and on as you know.
Really cannot wait. I just hope they don’t take a flyer on the paint scheme and speak to comeone on the markings, maybe me. It is a beautiful scheme as you know. FHC know about my file, photos on the project
I assume the 801 is fully working including the Kommandogerät, albeit this is part of the engine.
regards
Mark

You seem to be the guy when it comes to 190’s, it looked a fascinating project to be involved with, what part of the project was your biggest engineering challange to reproduce

Thank you James – you see my point perfectly. That Focke Wulf took up 6 years of my life.

Having had a look on the vintage radials site again (where the video from July comes from) it looks like it is the same motor as is on Paul Allens machine as shown on the Vintage V12’s site, so I suppose vintage V12’s and Vintage radials are one and the same.
Edit as their addresses are both Tehachapi I suppose this is correct!
Mike bought out Aircraft Cylinder & Turbine in Sun Valley & moved everything up the hill to Tehachapi:
35° 7’46.60″N 118°24’56.56″W
There has been new construction since that pic was taken & there is 1 more buildings on the West side of the lot, at the south end. There is still space for another between the two.
It’s home to Vintage V12’s, Vintage Radials & Vintage Carbs 🙂

Bruce,
I hope there was some pleasure in those 6 years!

I know what you mean – but its the way of the world. At least the people who have contributed to a project know their own input was valuable, credited or not.

Problem – just a little disappointed that those that actually rebuilt the aeroplane dont get a mention. Plenty of blood, sweat and tears in that aeroplane, I can tell you.
As a general observation*, I don’t like the way many organisations are ‘written out’ of a restored aircraft’s history by major and national collections. In house restorers are credited (as they should); people who’ve bought and sold it are often credited (and while that’s important, it’s no more so than restoration); but commercial entities – even ones who are doing work for collections at non-commercial rates – are often glossed over for IMHO poor, usually bureaucratic reasons.
Regards,
*Or ‘rant’. 😉

And? They are congratulating Mike Nixon on his success, as they are apparently friends. Whats the problem?
Yes thats basically it, they have a close working relationship with Mike and Jose.

One wonders why Meier Motors are featuring an aircraft they had NOTHING to do with.
I can state that quite categorically!

Lovely photo! I’m a bit mixed up on these motors at the moment, I know theres someone on here who might be able to straighten things out a bit though (cough Bruce cough). So vintage radials have white ones motor and have run it, (the video we saw in july?) and Paul Allens 801 has been restored by Vintage V12’s and has been running recently, is this correct?
