Hello all,
Probably a bit of a long shot but has anybody got any Percival Pembroke interior shots taken when the aircraft was in service? Any configuration would be greatfully recieved.
Yours hopefully (!)
Dave 🙂

Probably the next link will interest you as well, a large number of detail shots of the Pembroke preserved in the Brussels Air Museum.

The suggestion that the red seats were VIP fit would make sense of my feeling that I saw red seats in one of 60 Sqn’s aircraft as that was their main job when they were at Wildenrath I think. Not that their Pembrokes were used that much AFAIK. Seemed to spend more in the hangar and being air tested than actually earning their keep, if anyone knows different I’d be pleased to know.
I spent many hours flying around Germany and beyond in the Pembroke doing a variety of tasks many of which were mundane and some which were decidedly not. The role for 60 Sqdn was varied to say the least and very busy, I could describe the interior of the recce version but would then have to kill you!!!!

Ah so thats what the interior should look like 🙂 Thanks for that!
What do you think our chances are of finding some of those seats for G-AMLZ…….

Prince and Pembroke interior photos
I have attached photos of Prince 2A N206UP and Belgian Pembroke RM1..
Note that the Prince floor structure is different and the seats mount to the floor.
The Pembroke floor has lashing pockets serving as one seat mount, the other is a wall attach point. The floor is more suitable for cargo loading.
Of note, the Prince has hat racks on both sides.
Otherwise, there is a great similarity between the two types… probably due to the common fuselage structure.

Gents
I have some pictures and drawings and will dig them out. This ex Belgian Air Force example has a non standard sofa in it now! Note the wall coverings are similar/same as RAF.
Cheers
Tom
Interesting to note the similarities with what is left in G-AMLZ. Though once below the line of windows any reference material is long gone. At a guess it was wood panelled based on what is still there on the cockpit bulkhead.

Rumbold are sort of still about. They got swallowed up a few years ago.

Pembroke interior materials
for DGH…
per Pembroke CMk1 Schedule of Spare Parts, AP.101B-2501-3A page G3….
covering, cabin lower, K66-83-2000/Q, 26PP/8475, BLUE Vinide 3724/1010 V6 or Lionide OASE/226
covering, cabin upper, K66-83-2000/R, 26PP/8715, GREY Vinide 1096/1013/RV
seats were made by Rumbold and vendor for material is same though they obviously didn’t manufacture it… IIRC the sidewall panel material was attached to Dufaytex Boarding…
probably no longer procurable, is Rumbold still in business??..in fact it would be too old and cracked to be of any use if you found any NOS.
from the photos I have of RAF interiors I note there were occasionally red “velour” seats usually placed at forward positions.. not sure if this was for VIP or high rank or just something they had in stock in the latter days of operation.
the RAF and Belgian standard interiors are very similar, hat rack usually on right side but provision for left, but never seen one installed there…
if you need photos or more info please PM me…

Cracking, that photo is very useful. Ours just has hole’s where the chrome fittings are in your photo and we were wondering wether it was another rack as fitted to the other side that should be there. 🙂

Pembroke Interior

Had a quick look at my past Pics could only find this one at the moment will try and dig out some more

I have to appologize, having looked in ours today the colours are indeed blue, my memory is getting bad. It is a mix of light and mid blues. Anybody know what the material is that is used to cover and line the interior panels? Its like a vinyl but very thin and not very hard-wearing. Even better if you can tell me were we can get some now! 🙂

There are some pictures on the Net somewhere , I will see if I can find you a link . From memory blue featured in the cabin .
I think that was true for the 60 sqn ones though if it was standard I know not. Having said that, I also seem to remember that one of theirs had a dark maroon leather fitout.
By: DGH - 19th October 2007 at 21:05
Yes ours has blue seats and grey walls and ceiling’s. Interested to see the various interior panels, camera bays etc.

You could try getting access to the 60 Sqn archives as they may have a photo of the VIP interior fit, which I seem to remember having only 6 seats.
