Pembroke XL954

Visiting Weston Airport ( west of Dublin) today and found XL954 looking to be in good condition also there is Buccaneer XV863. The Pembroke seems to be in a very good state but I am unsure if it will fly again or remain as a static display.

I wanted to add this information to the thread.

My Grandfather was part of MU10 and Empire flying school at Hullavington throughout the 40s and 50s. He has now passed away

We have this photo of him, standing on the right

sorry I cannot work out how to display the photo in the thread. maybe I need to post 5 posts or something

I recall from chatting to him that he was involved in training the soon to become king Hussain of Jordan and that it was his Highness who took the image. no way of substantiating this info because although we have flying records from 40s and early 50s we do not for the late 50s.

Thanks

Richard
