Percival Piston Provosts Of 2 FTS

Hello everyone

Can anyone help with my search for information about the Percival Provosts that served with 2 FTS during the 1950s ? I’m looking for pictures, stories , memories, serials of aircraft with the unit ,that sort of thing.

I believe that 2 FTS were based at RAF Hullavington during the 50s with Percival Provosts and Chipmunks.

Many thanks
James

The book On the Wings of a Gull has arrived and it’s a brilliant source for all things Percival and Hunting. Thanks guys for pointing me in this direction.

XF907 did not serve w 2FTS. You need D Gearing, On the Wings of a Gull, Air-Britain. All there.

Thank you that’s a great bit of information about these aircraft serial numbers, it all helps to get a picture of the unit.

Airwork Services sold 5 to the Sultan of Omans Air Force in 1966, I think? Maybe they were ex 2 FTS ? XF907, XF688, XV501, XY476, WV???. If my memory serves me right ? Ex. Geriatric A/W Engineer.
