We are still looking for photographs of Proctor 3 LZ791, G-AKEX, SE-BTR. The restoration has reached the stage where final the final colour scheme is now a serious consideration. We know in her wartime ATA period she was finished in standard green and brown camouflage with yellow undersides. Immediately post war (1946 -1948) she was overall dark blue when serving at RAF West Raynham and the central fighter establishment and possibly as the commanding officers personal hack! On being civilianised in 1949 at Gatwick she emerged with a deep cream fuselage, silver wings and elevator and dark burgundy markings. On export to Sweden in 1952 she gained an overall silver scheme less the underside finished in a deep red with white registration and to our mind the least appealing or attractive of her colours. Do any of the forum users here have photos of her in any of these schemes that hey would be prepared to lend please? The only pictures we have located to date are four black and white views of her all in her post war cream scheme one shot is of her on arrival in Sweden with the UK reg crudely painted over and the SE-BTR roughly painted. Reading other posts here it never ceases to amaze me the wealth of knowledge amongst forum members, so here’s hoping!!

Have a look at this site if you haven’t already. It lists one negative for G-AKEX and a digital print is available for a reasonable price. It may be in the cream scheme of course but you can ask first!
