Personal memories

I almost forgot it but this one was my only flight on board of a DC8.

there’s a DC-8 parked up outside the Jet Aviation hangar at BSL, too, where I used to work. The BSL division is more a Maintenance/outfitting base (BBJ’s and ACJ’s get their interior there, along with all kind of Gulfstreams, Falcons and Challengers, plus the occasional widebody). They also handle some airlines, which is what Jet at ZRH mostly do, ie check-in, although Jet Zurich also has an air taxi fleet, including that DC-8.

try looking up www.jetaviation.com

Incidentally, Hand… nice airport in your original pic 😉

I only managed to find this one… Jet Aviation of Switzerland, though Im not sure if its a private airline, judging by the c/s it looks as if it could be.

All the other DC-8 operators in Europe are Cargo.

The company that I used to work for in the 80s at STN used to handle these Pointair Mulhouse DC8s when they visited for maintenance at the ATEL facility. We also used to see a B707 in just Pointair colours which still retained its PanAm cheatline…happy days!
