Personnel required to keep a Lanc in the air.

Attached is a picture showing a Lancaster and personnel required to keep the aircraft in the air. I am curious to know who did what? Any suggestions?

The above taken from Lancaster – The Story Of A Famous Bomber, by Bruce Robertson.

I did not know that.

My understanding is that the picture was taken by the Daily Herald newpaper. To me it is all very hazy as to who can and cannot copy pictures that float around on the internet.

First row – aircrew – no explanation needed (but seems to include the CO, his WAAF, and probably the adjutant

Second row (and the 3 guys behind the bomb truck) – ground crew – maintenance engineers of Airframes / Propusion / Electrics / Armourers / etc

Third Row – Ground support staff – Bowser drivers, medical staff, opsies, inteligence…etc.

just a thought
