Peter Jackson's Fe2. Isn't anyone interested?

As featured in the other magazine.
Come on you lot this has got to be one of the greatest and most exciting replicas ever. Just fantastic and stunning. And there is another on the way.

Don’t know if they use the same method for The FE2 but years ago the Gunbus replica G-ATVP was at Southend to do some filming for Candid Camera and they had a sort of sock with a rope on it that they put over the end of one pop blade and pulled the engine over from outside the cage of rear struts. It looked the safest way of doing it but on that particular day the engine was very reluctant to start so a lot of climbing in and out all the struts and rigging was needed.
The FE2 looks superb – now if only the second one could find its way over here. I am sure it could be found a good home possibly in the Biggleswade area?

Very nice video, but starting the engine looks more complex than usual, what with having to try and escape from the cage.
Whilst I’m sure they were being responsible, it did seem extremely sedate and cumbersome compared to the Fokker… and as for the observer gunner, getting first dibs at flies and STANDING UP!!!….. aaaagh!!!
Great filming, why don’t we have weather like that here??

No!

Perhaps it was the third one or was it the fourth? 🙂

Mark

No wonder some WW1 pilots affectionately called their flying machines “buses”

You have none for ninety years and the four come along at once

The Gotha bomber was being built by Ron Bloomquist in Tennessee, and the fuselage was done, covered and painted, about 5 years ago. But, nobody has heard anything from him since, and he doesn’t answer e-mails any more, so ???

What’s the story on the Caproni bomber, and arent’ there any photos of the Fe-2b that can be posted?

I heard a rumour a couple of years ago about a flying replica Gotha bomber being started somewhere in the States .

That’s the one I was thinking of…not a Martin.
I know for a fact he has his wheels (he had some custom made in the same batch as friend who needed some for his biplane) don’t know much else.

Bomber Command Hall I reckons – It’s being finished as a bomber (the opening for the conservation centre at Cosford mentioned the bomb trolley for the Fee)

The space formerly occupied by the Be2 is empty, with the Be2 going on the other side of the doors to where the Battle used to be

And there’s a big photo of an FE2 bomber behind the space occupied by the Be2
