Not just a bit of shameless promotion but a cry for help too, I want make this a more special painting by depicting one of the more exotic colour schemes worn by phantoms over the years, I have sketched a 43 Squadron scheme but wondered if any of you out there have some more unusual ones that would fit the bill.

Paul the sketch and the painting are fantastic you have captured what Phantom QRA’s were all about. The three RAF Phantom schemes that stand out for me are 111 Sqn’s Black Mike, the Alcock and Brown commemorative scheme and the 74 Sqn. allover tiger scheme, although I’m led to believe that the aircraft never flew in this scheme.
Hope this gives some food for thought.

Eventually got to paint this, turned out pretty well I think, kept the 43 Sqdn markings cos I liked them.
