Well done to the UAS team. Dismantling it, moving it and reassembly I believe was almost as expensive as buying it!

So nice to see. A great team effort by the UAS on what must have been, logistically and physically, quite a difficult task.

Just a quick update on xt864, after a great team effort the wing and fuselage have now been reunited.

Good news..but…I tried to resist asking….what is that Spitfire in the UAS video taken at Leuchars on Fb? seems to have a L serial ?
No 1 Squadron’s pet, presumably moving or has already moved to Lossiemouth

Think the Spitfire is LA255

Nice to see that she is going to a good home. 🙂

The move has indeed begun, the aircraft has been moved to HAS 27, see the video on the Ulster Aviation Society facebook page. 864 probably wont leave Leuchars until end of March, there is a mammoth amount of work to be done to separate wing and fuselage.

It would appear that the move is looming for the old girl!

That’s pretty good going, so all three airframes have now been saved for preservation!
