Hi All,
I hope that someone can help – I am currently building a model of an F-4 Phantom II during manufacture, hence with a fair bit of the structural detail shown through removed panels, engines and removed skins, it is one of those rainy day projects that will go on and on and on I am sure – what I was wondering was could anyone post any pictures of the structure or interior or recommend any F-4’s in the UK that I might be able to access with a camera and a tape measure?
Thanks for all your help – will post a pic of the model one day.

Phantom details
Robert,
Come across and see us at RAF Millom Museum in the southern Lake District, we’ve got a Phantom cockpit section (with panels off) and all sorts of bits you can look at, poke, prod and photograph.
Structurally, Phantoms are structurally almost all the same apart from such differences as internal gun, recce equipment and engines.
British (K&M) Phantoms were beefed up and a bit wider than the “standard” US types but were built the same way.
Contact me for any specific details you require.
Hey, Phantom Phil. Can you get me behind the wire and a look into the Boulmer Phantom when I come up to the NE in May????
I’ll be staying just down the road from there.

Boulmer Phantom
Hi there,
If you want to get close to a RR Spey powered example, I have been working on XV415 at RAF Boulmer. Just PM me if you want to arrange a date…
Phil.

The internal structure of the some marks of phantom are slightly differant depending on the mark you are building?, for example the British phantoms are differant due to the engine mods and the changes made to the fuselage, also the Mitsubishi built F4s have had local mods made to them which would also slightly change things.
Which doors are you looking at having open? as someone on here can probably tell you what is behind it ?
The only marks of phantoms to be found in the UK are C, FG1, FGR mk2, J (uk) and an S i believe and most of these are in collections or gate guards.
For some good tips at building phantoms have look for the osprey book modelling the F-4 Phantom II.
