A Phantom has appeared in the Air & Ground compound on the runway at Hixon, next to the Sea King, and the six Hercules. It’s covered with a tarpaulin, so I don’t know which one it is. Anyone know ?

What sort of harrier canopy is it? Is it a sea harrier one?

The Lynx are all hulks and all but one of the RN aircraft even have the landing gear removed. Scrap value only really but you could buy gearboxes, blades etc in separate lots to put one together maybe.

I would love an RN Lynx! Wonder how much they will go for?!

let me know if you’re going… You can register on the day, but you will need a credit card to be able to get a bidders number.

I can assure everyone that most of this stuff was in the warehouses until a few days ago. They have been moving it all over to the runway, by the Hercules, over the last couple of weeks. I was in the warehouse which was absolutely full of Pegasus engines a few weeks ago. It all has to go as the warehouses are being vacated, so the scrapman is likely to be the main winner. I urge anyone who has a Harrier or Tornado cockpit, or who wants a Lynx or Sea King or Phantom, or a complete perfect jet engine from a Gem to the Allisons from the Hercs, to go and make a bid

So why the harrier nozzles mate? They are rear ones I think?
PM sent!!!

Thanks for that Varsity. I think I will try and get over there in Thursday. I’ll have to just let tomorrows lots go – Unless anyone on here is bidding and would like to bid on my behalf?!!!! – I’m looking at 3 harrier nozzles!

I was told the navy ones reserve was £7000 and the Army Lynx £3000 dont know why, later i was told there is no reserve they have to go they expect £2000- £3000 for the Lynx each. I thinks some will go for less i have been told they are work £500 each scrap due to collection costs vat etc what do they weigh. The one Sea King is farly good but stripped and the Phantom looks ruf with six inch holes at the port side of each cockpit presumably to get it unlocked. There are plenty of bits some VC 10 wing refuelling pods with baskets in.Plenty of engines Alisons Nimbus Viper Pegasus Conways and others.

Varsity… Are there any guide prices there or is it a case of they make what they make?
I wanted to get over myself but couldn’t make it today.
I wish I could get there tomorrow to bid on a couple of lots!

Visited the Air and Ground site today for the viewing, 2 hercs now in the sale all must go no reserve Phantom 5 Sea Kings and about 20 Lynx all well stripped but some in good condition whats left. Lots of people after them for garden ornaments paint ball parks and lots of scrap men there.

yeah well i wasnt, and seemingly neither was the person who asked the original question. some of us dont have time to spend trawling through all the various foraa looking for things of interest.
