Phound this phantastic shot (ho ho the jokes never stop with me!) of a Phantom on the move on flickr today

Apparently it’s XV402, although according to Thunder and Lightnings, that’s just a nose section, and in Belgium. Anyone know anything more about this move?

Cheers guys – now she’s at Waddington (Why the move, anyone know?), does this mean she’ll be viewable on airshow days?

Yep it’s 497 on the move from Coningsby to Waddo, we helped with A.P’s to remove the outer wing sections and fuel tanks.

I think it is XV497 which was moved in 2002 from Conningsby to Waddington.
The police car is actually a “Y” reg which would be from September 2001.
see this link
It is also a RAF Police car rather than a Lincolnshire Constabulary one.

Looks to me like the 23sqn phanton on it’s way from Coningsby to Waddington… I know KDJ moved it.

Looking at the police car, its registered in Lincolnshire, and the haulage company are based in Lincoln.
The last comment posted below the pic was 12 months ago ! Keith.

Its an old picture – perhaps taken before the a/c was broken up.
The ‘T’ reg cop car is the give away!

I think they should put a British Phantom into the air again like they did with the Lightning and are doing with the Vulcan. I’d like the chance to hear some Speys someday! 🙂
(I doubt I’ll ever see much less hear a PLAN JH-7 so….lol.)

Well, it looks like a UK police car and haulage firm. They are on ‘our’ side of the road and the index plates look like ours as well!
