It’s a Steering Indicator for use with an Azimuth Bracket, which was developed to enable the older design of bombsights (e.g. Mk. VII & IX) to be used when banking turns were made on the approach to the target, i.e. permitting easier, tactically more flexible and thus safer approach to the target.

The Steering Indicator would be on the Pilot’s instrument panel, the push buttons which operated it were in the control of the Bomb-Aimer.

I was told initially that it was the wooden arm rest off a spitfire! I think you are right its a aerial mast thank you !

Image three looks like wood to me as opposed to Paxolin. Could be wrong though.
