I have mine covered as part of our House & Contents Insurance.

However the total value needs to be checked if you follow this route as there is often a limit to max/total value of items they will cover under one claim if the items are stolen whilst “out of the house”. I almost changed insurers a few years back due to better quote, but then noted a far lower “personal effects” limit for goods taken outside the home. Some insurers might want them listed as individual costed items on the policy, rather like valuable jewellery?

So, if you think the gear is covered on normal H & C insurance policies check that point just in case some toe-rag takes them from your parked car, or mugs you and makes off with whole lot. Both the total value per claim, and the indvidual item value maxima need to be considered, as either may limit the total you can claim if the whole lot goes walkies while you are out and about.
