Photo Editing Program Help

Evening all,

Can someone point me in the direction of a good free photo editing program? I’m really just needing it to level, crop and resize photos. Contrast, sharpening etc would be a bonus.

Not Picasa though, hate the thing lol!

Many thanks

Well, if you’ve got a Canon DSLR (or G10 / G11) & you shoot in RAW you can always use Canon “DPP” which is supplied. I have to say that I find this an excellent program!

There are many photo editing tools are available, like Photoshop, Picasa, and many more, According to my point of view I think that photoshop is really better for photo editing, with the help of this you can easily edit your photo and can modify it, you can also search on Internet for more photo editing programs.

I don’t know if this has been resolved yet… I use a programme for digital art and also photo editing called the Gimp. (I use version 2) http://www.gimp.org/ It’s free and really does well for me! (though I will now need to go try and rotate a photo. Never thought to do that to level horizons *Blush* )

I think that Irfanview can do what you are looking for as well.

Edit: I remember now that I sometimes use FastStone, wich is another free and simple to use program.

Good luck!

I find that when you rotate pictures to level the horizon, it blurs the picure. Is it just me?

Why do you hate Picasa when it provides everything you are looking for and is free to boot?

I used to use ‘Paint Shop Pro’ quite a lot before someone gave me a copy of Photoshop…
