Although my hp deskjet 940c is several years old, it produces fantastic results, and is better in my opinion than my new Pixma MP450. However both cost more than GBP 100 here in Sweden.
People looking at my prints from the hp find it hard to believe that it’s an inkjet printer. Mind you, the ink is the most costly item, far outweighing the initial cost of the printer!

Hello FMK.6JOHN,
The Canon Pixma IP6700D is a good printer and can be found in your budget range. I’m happy with the quality of the prints from this printer, but no doubt you will also get replies from others who are happy with other makes of printer. Whatever you final choice, i would strongly recomend using genuine inks and paper to achieve the best results.
Hope that helps,
Regards,
Dave
