Photographing modelplanes

I’m looking for alternative ways to photograph models.
Still tinkering with the camera settings, though ther’s not much you can do with a Sony cybershot.
Any suggestions?

Mike does know better, but it’s not Billy Fiske. Which film?

It’s N109ME – the CAF Buchon of the time, in sorta Condor Legion scheme. However there’s more – it’s for a film, and Mike does know better. 😉

It’s a resin nose, made by a friend, put on the Hasegawa 109G kit, and I think more accurate than most representations of the Hispano nose – from this angle the bulges should be big, as there’s a Merlin in there, which most kits are too small for.

That’s a Condor Legion scheme, isn’t it?

Helpful answers eh?

Here’s a pic of a 1/72 model of Hispano Buchon N109ME.

Just bashed off using a Fuji Finepix 303 compact digibox, tripod, no flash, macro (flower  ) setting, a couple of desklamps for light.

And the quiz question. What’s the scheme represent and why?

As a drunk adult me a my mates tierapped a 1:48 Harvard to a newyears piece of firework. At jan 1st. at 0.10 hours, it lifted from the front yard, made a beautiful roll and half loop and sped accross the street with us watching terrified, seeing it going towards the 1st floor windows of the neighours house , see it miss and explode with a huge bang next to the house.. :diablo:

As a kid, We spanned a wire across the lawn from the window and took a shot at the planes with a leadshot airgun 🙂

For that one of a kind ‘in action’ shot, I use my 200mm lens and have a friend throw the plane out the window….in fact, some of the air to airs that you may have seen me post on this site have actually been forged in this way….downside, it’s usually a one time deal until the plane is rebuilt again and we have another go at it…
