hey guys….
this thread sorta compliments this one, and is a showcase of some of the images taken onboard flights to / from hong kong and the uk on the 27th of march and the 6th of april 07. they’re certainly not photographically brilliant, mainly due to the dirty windows of G-BNLF and G-BNLW:) but gives something a little different for you to cast your eyes on. comments much appreciated.
hope you enjoy!

Great photos and video.
I also visited Hong Kong about 18 months ago, although with Virgin Atlantic instead.

Lovely shots. That terminal at Hong Kong looks superb. I bet it puts most of ours to shame.

seeing the specks and dirt on the window on #7 actually improves the photo! It gives a sense of perspective and makes me feel like Im actually sitting onboard looking out. Beautiful photo. great stuff Sam.:)

thanks for that paul; you’re absolutely right:D
thought i would upload a few more.
shows a vapour trail of an aircraft ahead of us….unfortunately, we never overtook it.

an old favourite that we usually see at NEMA:D:D

taken from the cable car on Lantau:

i attempted a couple of shots of the vapour trail from our aircraft, but couldnt quite catch it.

A very interesting bunch, Sam! Looks like you had a good trip! It’s been over two years since I’ve flown on a 747, your cabin shots reminded me just how big they are!
As for being ‘not photographically brilliant’, a great photo doesn’t need to meet any technical criteria, it just needs to make people think “that’s a really nice shot”. There were plenty in there that made me think that. 😉

thankyou simon! i should know by now that not every shot is going to be a cracker…..low lighting and window reflection / dirt play havoc with the camera. however, you are right in saying that they show a journey accross great distance…..and they are something that i should be, and am, proud of. im glad you said that, thankyou.

Sam, Great shots…all of them! You say they are not Photographiclly brilliant…hell they are! They show a journey from one side of the world to another in images, I think they are photgraphically brilliant.
Well done.

Superb there Sam! Brings back memories of my two visits on HK. I’ve been to Happy Valley stadium too, to watch the Asian Cup qualifier vs Kazakstan, sadly 0-0 was the score!
0-0? wow, tough game! at this year’s Cup Final, Fiji were losing 0-27 to samoa and were seconds from equalising in the second half as the whistle blew…unfortunately they didnt make it! watching rugby is intense! i was supporting Fiji but Samoa dod a good job, so there arent any hard feelings:p
Cheers for the feedback adam, it means a lot! i reckon those snow shots look almost like they are amoebas…..the very “learned” flight attendant said they were infact glaciers:rolleyes: . the floor of CLK is indeed shiny. someone was always cleaning it!

excellents shots Mr Sam! The London shot is spectacular and I see that HK has really, really shiny floors in its terminal, lol. The Siberian shots are interesting – spooky in a way. dunno why, they just are.:)
