On Saturday we took at trip to Birling gap near Beachy head to see the chalk cliffs, it was pretty mild considering and the sunset was fantastic. Here are a few shots from the day, I hope you enjoy.

Beautiful photos, Martin
Martin,
Like Tangmere1940 I too am fortunate enough to live in this part of the country (we moved down to E. Sussex from a boringly flat part of NW Surrey some 25 years ago), and I never tire of seeing it through the eyes/cameras of others.
Images like yours always remind me that I should never become blase about the beauty of this area. Add in a flaming sunset reflected off the cliffs, and I know why we have no plans to move on again either…
Stunning images!

Thanks for the kind comments, I remember when first saw these cliffs when I was 11 on a school trip to France and the teacher explaining they were the Seven Sisters and not the White cliffs of Dover. Also childhood trips to Eastbourne forever cemented Beachy head in my mind.
Since then I have been drawn to them, and the beauty they have.,I find them awe inspiring and fascinating.
Its also the fact they are eroding so quickly and things like the Birling hotel and cottages are literally on borrowed time, you can’t help but feel nature reclaiming land back from mankind.

Lovely images…
My old stamping ground and ground I have trod many a time. Never get bored with it, and I kinda miss the two homes I once had, eons ago, from where I could see Beachy Head.
My most recent view of it last year was from an Aztec, in formation with two Spits, a Hurricane and Buchon ‘109’. Beautiful, memorable and exciting.

Marvellous sunset shots and we are reminded that the Seven Sisters is an impressive range of cliffs. Thank you!:)

Some very nice images. Two of my favourite subjects in a photograph, sunsets and the sea. Thanks for sharing them.
