Just a shot in the dark. My local ATC Squadron have the above aircraft as their gateguard and are undertaking a restoration and repaint of the aircraft. They are also researching its history and are looking for any photos whilst in service with 25 Sqn and 1 & 2 Air Nav Schools between 1953 and 1965. They have exhausted the official sources for photos ie Hendon, AHB etc if anyone has any photos which could be copied etc or ideas it would be much appreciated.

Meteor WS726
Adrian, your apology is accepted and appreciate it was not intended , after all in these times any aircraft with ATC Squadrons are getting thin on the ground!

Sorry, Lion Rock – I seem to have hijacked your thread! This was NOT my intention – I just wondered if they were the same machine. Good luck in your quest!

CHELMSFORD T.7 METEOR
The Chelmsford meteor is still there in its compound. (circa 31st July 2005)
Although now sporting incorrect (for the period) Blue and Red only roundals and fin flash. There is no white to be seen!

WH132 at Chelmsford – early 1960s

Is it still there?

DEFINITELY not the same one then – I wasn’t even a twinkle in 1967! Wouldn’t mind knowing what did happen to that one, though!

Probably Meteor T7 WH132 and still there I believe with No.276 Sqn ATC.

Meteor WS726
No Adrian, this has been at Royton near Oldham Lancashire since 1967.
Photos of it whilst at Thorney with 2 ANS would be especially welcome.

That’s not the Meteor that used to be at Chelmsford ATC is it? I remember passing it in the car when I was a mite quite often – certainly a Night Fighter, in all-over silver without any other markigs IIRC.
