The Pe-2 is described in the article as a “WW2 fighter jet”.

I read this elsewhere, it said they had recovered a sheepskin collar, bits of boots and a pistol, there was no mention of human remains, but those three items point strongly to the remains of the pilot still in it
Hopefully they will attempt to recover the crew and their identities?

1 engine, as RU article says, more likely an Il-2.
Or Yak, Mig, or something else.

Where ??
Ken
I can see it in the link itself: “ww2-fighter-jet-jewish-gravestones-found-polish-river-drought_n_8041548.html”
And a caption is even worse  : “A Soviet WWI fighter-bomber plane”
Kudos to those who can identify anything in those photos, I could barely discern the engine remains. Hopefully they can identify the pilot and inform his/her family.

The Vistula part of the story was the discovery of Jewish gravestones, and having seen the Vistula in the last 10 days I can say it was very low so I can believe that things are being seen which would normally below water.

Recovered from the Bzura river, not Vistula.

Meddle might have mistook the remains of the engine’s blower for part of a jet engine, perhaps?
Looks like a big V-12 Mikulin to me, with the cylinder banks on top.
I’m surprised there weren’t all sorts of weapons and other armaments and equipment, including vehicles, found as well.
Anon.

The Pe-2 is described in the article as a “WW2 fighter jet“.
Where ?? all I can see is…..
WW2 Plane
A Soviet fighter-bomber plane
A Soviet WWI Fighter Bomber
Red Army plane
The only mistake I can see is the use of ‘WWI’ instead of ‘WWII’ (or more properly ‘GPW’)……..
Has it been altered since your post ?
