Photos of Spitfire PL965

With the departure of this Spitfire from Breighton to a new owner late in 2004 I thought you all might like to see some of my photos of it that I took at Breighton when it was still based there

Thanks for your kind words Dave Homewood 😀 It’s nice to know that I’ve got somewhere in the two years I’ve been photographing 🙂

Will the spit be visiting Brieghton this year ?

I would imagine so.

F3Hadlow, not meaning to sound like one of those condescending old buggers, but for someone so young as you, you have certainly mastered the art of photography, well done. Those are smashing shots. I love the first one especially, it is amazing, were you standing on the control tower or something? It reminds me a little of that dreamlike sequence in Empire of the Sun when Ray Hanna’s P51D goes by so close and level…

Keep it up, you will go very far (especially on this forum).

Thank You very much for those comments 😀

but its not like the aircraft has disappeared off the face of the earth. The new owner (who is a member of this board) fully intends to get her out next season.

I know that. Sorry the post did sound a little over dramatic! I jsut thought it would be nice to show some photos of it when it was an RAC aircraft thats all lol! I look forward to seeing what will no doubt be a great display by its new owner in the 2005 airshow season 🙂

Great pics!!! 😎

Drooooooool ….

At least this spit stayed in the UK. So you don’t need to travel too far to see it. (at least if you live in the UK).

Cracking pictures but its not like the aircraft has disappeared off the face of the earth. The new owner (who is a member of this board) fully intends to get her out next season.

As I said, cracking photos though.
