Hi
I have mentioned before on another thread that I have been researching my Uncle Sgt John Phillips RAF VR, he was killed on a raid on Berlin 23/24.08.1943 when his Lancaaster ED328 SR-S was attacked by a nightfighter and exploded in mid air.
Last year we found the crash site and recovered many parts of the plane which are on display at the Finowfurt Aviation Museum nr Berlin, I have been given some records which show that in fact ED328 was not their main plane in fact they used ED328 SR-S and ED320 SR-R most of the time as well as W4311 SR-O on one raid.
I would like to find any photos of ED328, ED320 or W4311, any Aircrew photos of my Uncle he flew with F/Sgt Naffin RAAF crew, the Ground Crew who maintained these planes and any of the plane at Ludford.
I am still looking for the family of Sgt David Ellis RAF VR who came from Pontypridd South Wales or anyone who new of this crew.
They completed 18 missions and failed to return on their 19 raid.
I know it may be a tall order, but if you don’t ask you don’t get.:eagerness:
Thanks

Whilst doing some research for a publishing project in East Lindsey a couple of years ago I came across the Mr. Fred Witchell Collection on the Internet, which might be of interest to you with regard to Ludford Magna

There’s also at least one forumite who has access to some great material from that site, hopefully he may be along when he sees this thread. 🙂
