My apologies if this has already been posted, but I was reading one of the Thai newspapers today and was shocked to see that Phuket Air is to drop its direct Bangkok to London Gatwick service, with the last flight leaving the Thai capital for London on Friday 22nd April.
Apparently, the flights from Amsterdam have been more of a success and so, the airline wants to concentrate on operating more flights from here. That’s not to say that the Gatwick flights haven’t been.
It’s a shame really. Just 9 months after starting the flights to Gatwick, they are coming to an end.

As for more services at Amsterdam, it doesn’t look like there are any extra flights planned.
Phuket is planning to upgrade the service from 2x weekly to 3x weekly.

Right, the same newspaper is now reporting that the end to the service is not a permanent move. Phuket Air have now announced that it is only temporary and for ‘maintenance’ reasons. Services are expected to resume on 31 October. After the recent incident at Sharjah, I think this is a wise move!

P.S. Hello A330Crazy 🙂

Thats sad news about Phuket Air – Ive not yet had the chance to get to LGW whilst they have been operating flights, and i very much doubt i will get there before the end of the month. 🙁

Does this mean that AMS will get additional flights? Or will the number of flights stay as it is.
