For the record Interflug, I happen to think the name is a hell of a lot worse than the colour scheme! My Travel? How about Your travel?

Yup, thats the info that I have. Interesting because some of the Airtours DC10s were operated by Scanair in the first place before all the mergers happened.

Thanks interflug, I was always curious about that when I used to see Skyservice DC10’s up in SFO. So, they used to lease them from Airtours, correct?

greekdude, sorry mate but I didn’t see your question until this morning. No there is no tie up between either of the Skyservice companies and Airtours, its just a case of similar liveries. The DC10s were leased with revised titles applied. Premiair was formed from a merger of the Danish charter airline Conair and the SAS charter offshoot Scanair, this was in turn absorbed by the Airtours group and this eventualy “morphed” into My Travel. (dreadful name-even worse livery-just my opinion!) Hope the info of interest.

I guess nobody was able to answer my series of questions above. Oh well.

have a look thru the LBA2 archieves – i’ve give u the link b4…
i remember an EI A330 Pilot doing circs at LBA – a t 4 miles the scanner crackled something along the line sof “Are u sure this runway is long enough for us?” He had his doubts, but landed. Apparently he would have gone if it’s have been a worse day weatherwise!

Do any of you guys know if Skyservice USA and Skyservice Canada had any affiliation with Airtours? I know Skyservice USA had the same scheme as AirTours, on their DC-10’s, unless those were just leased. Also, Pemiair was part of Airtours also, weren’t they?

Excellent piccy softlad.
Just to add, Pembo330 😀 appreciates a good A330 pic too!
I’ve learnt something there too…didn’t know Skyservice had A330 leant out to MYT over the winter months.

Great photograph – nice to see an Airtours DC-10 hovering about in the background, too.

VERY NICE! Thanks Softlad, appreciate it. A great pic, the angle of this pic makes the aircraft look as if it has a huge wingspan, one bigger than normal.
Cheers Softlad. 🙂
