Here’s one for all you Sabena fans out there. It’s OO-SYG, Boeing 737-500. It was taken on 13th September 2001 as the aircraft was being prepared for flight SN2177, the 14:45 BRU-MAN flight. This was the last Sabena aircraft I ever flew on.

only flew them once, myself, this is the aircraft I got for both legs of my GLA-BRU-GLA trip…
(yes, it’s dat rather than Sabena, but it was an ‘SN’ flight number)

Sabena are very much missed, I never flew with them myself, but I often saw them in airports when I was flying off on holiday. I miss them now they’re no longer around.
I did once and it’s the most horrible flight memory.
Flight from Brussels to ORY cancelled without any notice.
The did the check-in anyway to ORY !!!
Passenger transfered to CDG flight. No accomodation to transfer from CDG to ORY and luggage lost , it took us 3 weeks to retrieve them after 50 phone calls.
They went under, it’s not a real surprise for me.

Nice pic comet. Nice to have a pic like this though… brings back a good memory. 🙂

It seems funny no longer seeing that name at the airports nowadays. It really makes you wonder how many more famous names still have to go.

It is Saab, very much so. It’s the only decent photo I’ve got of a Sabena aircraft (certainly one I’ve taken myself).

Must be a very poignant picture for you Comet.
