wwwjethros.i12.com – its usually a VERY good referance!

Personally I hope they do come out of the franchise, I asked some guys on the GLA spotters group website about it and I was told the franchise had been extended ’til 2008.
Time will tell I suppose ?
What’s the URL to Jethro’s BTW ?

According to Jethros, from the wording, it appears that the entire loganair fleet is going to be removed from the franchise. Last time it clearly stated just the islanders, but it has beem reworded to say in the notes section:
BRITISH AIRWAYS FRANCHISE OPERATOR
TO COME OUT OF BRITISH AIRWAYS FRANCHISE NOV 03
Minor contradiction to what Ren Frew was told!

I’m not sure if you’d be that excited by a visit to Barra, the Twin Otter is the only movement you’re likely to see and even this doesn’t happen that often.
It’s still worth seeing all the same !:D

Yo People,
The Twon Otter getting her “feet” wet is truly spectacular…I’ve never seen this before, i mean i’ve been on st.maarten several times and even saba (also in the netherlands antilles) but this is mega cool….too bad a 747 or an A330/340 could not have the privelage to land there….

I just got a reply from a guy who spots at GLA telling me Loganair are to sign another 5 year franchise deal with BA. He also says they may be intoducing a new type in the autumn and bringing in some more Saabs.

lol, you should always trust a camera crew but never ever in your life trust a producer or director. They’ll sell their grandma to get what they want 😀
I hereby promise to all pilots in this forum that if I’m making the film you most certainly will feature in it!!!

Still a great looking pic Moondance. You must miss making those island hops despite the relatively poor salary ?
I think I’ll write a nice letter to Loganair and see if they won’t let me do a photo or video feature on the Glasgow to Barra service. That would be really something ?

No, just a crap slide adaptor for my scanner – the original is perfectly sharp.
By: EGNM - 22nd June 2003 at 20:11
that pic has a real unique remote feel to it!!!
By: Moondance - 22nd June 2003 at 13:13
Sorry, don’t recall that name.
Back to Barra, if I can work out how to scan slides at a reasonable quality on my cheap scanner, I will attach some pix of LC aircraft, in a real LC colour scheme, on the beach.

Were you there at the same time as Anthony Gratton?

Hmm a very nice and intersting Picture
Barra is one of the airports that I m considering in my research to determine the impact of deregulation in EU remote regions.

I’m glad to hear that and it’s something I’ve suspected would happen for a while now. Do you have any info as to what the livery will look like when it returns ?
By: Ren Frew - 18th June 2003 at 15:26
Ah yes I know it well… It tends to be one or the other. I think you should get TCX to put you in The Thistle or elsewhere in the city centre at least you’d get a taste of the city, bars restaurants etc.
Being stuck on the airport must feel a bit tedious after a long day’s flying ?

Ren – it’s the exciting Airport Post House for us. I think it might have changed name now.

Cheers EGNM, I wasn’t sure if the 360’s were still in Loganair service or BA regional. When you paint them all the same it’s hard to tell which is which (well for me anyway).

Where do they put you guys up in Glasgow these days ? Is it the Holiday Inn at the airport or The Thistle Hotel in Glasgow city centre ?
I’ve often seen flight crew awaiting their mini bus outside The Thistle.
