Yes and the metal finish saves cost too. Yes the new c/s tried by AI was horrible…public opinion was the thing that made them change back to the normal one.

Nice one Kabir! Seeing this pic reminds me how glad I was that Air India did not adopt that awful “new scheme” a few years back. I agree that seeing natural metal in a livery has more impact than acres (or hectares) of white paint.

747’s have normal size windows in the doors unlike other types which usually have fish eye lens viewing panes. These are used in an emergency for the crew to check outside for obstructions prior to opening the door and inflating the slide.
Unpainted parts of aircraft save huge amounts of weight and therefore reduce fuel burn. Some form of corrosion proofing is still required though.

Nice pic Kabir. I dont know if its just me but I dont like aircraft with the silver body work as it makes the plane look old. What does anyone else think about it?

Are those windows on the doors? Never seen ones that big on aircraft doors before only those small peep holes.
