RE: Pic Of The Day-UA B744
I’m Premier Executive with United, so it’s pretty safe to say that I fly them quite a bit. I’ve flown countless legs, both long and short, with the 767, 777 and 744. There’s absolutely no difference in comfort, in my opinion. Unless you want to count PTV’s on the 777 and not on the other 2. Otherwise, the seats and seat pitch are all the same.

Pembo,
Could you elaborate a bit…
Meaning Noise, Vibration were reduced as well as riding out air-pockets compared to the B-744?
I’ve flown lots of times on the S’pore-Narita/Taipei-LAX legs and these legs will probably not see a B-772 or B-773 anytime soon.

RE: Pic Of The Day-UA B744
I flew on a UA744 from SFO to LHR in 2000 and this aircraft type was still running the route in 2001. Externally, it is a beautiful aircraft but internally, the 777 beats it. I flew a UA777 into LAX and it was significantly more comfortable than the 744.

RE: Pic Of The Day-UA B744
I flew on a UA 744 just last summer LHR-ORD. I’m sure they get thrown into a few Heathrow routes occassionally. But obviously, the 777 is more common on the route nowadays. UA uses their 744’s on a variety of routes, but definitely mostly Pacific. They even use it on various domestic services, hub to hub. The recently substituted a 777 for a 744 on its LAX-AKL services.

I remember when United used the 747 on routes to heathrow, any idea why they stopped it? Was it because the 777 was more efficiant and cost less to run?
The united 747 used to be the only a/c that ever looked something at heathrow. 🙁 . I do like the 777’s but they do not have the same effect! 🙁

Great picture!Only major operators of the 747 on passenger services are UA and NW.I think UA mainly use them on the pacific routes.

Nice pic Kabir.
Majors in the US are not so many to operate the type.
