SAA 744 about to land on 13L at JFK

My dad flew out on Concorde to JFK a couple of weeks ago and said there was a turn shortly before landing. Well he actually ended up going around (must of been a great experience in Concorde!) because of another aircraft on the runway apparently.

As far as I know Concorde flies the same standard instrument departures and standard arrivals as everyone else. It doesn’t operate to anywhere particularly challenging so I wouldn’t imagine that performance is particularly challenging.

Thanks wys.
BTW , do you know if Concorde has some specific procedures for take-off and landing?

This is the Canarsie approach to JFK. It is a much more dramatic approach than the old Kai Tak and yet no one ever seemed to know about it other than the pilots who fly it! On the same note, the approach to 05 at Funchal is far more complex than Kai Tak.
