Most definitely !!
My camera technoolgy and pic-taking abilities have improved somewhat so will be a lot better than these pics
anyway here’s 2 more I found of the P-51 in NZ TAF colour scheme.
Problem with Wanaka is that it gets very dry during summer/autumn and a lot of dust is kicked up.
Cheers
Chris

No worries,
From what I remember, he flew for 485 squadron, shot down 14 enemy aircraft throughtout the war , and was shot down in 1943 in France, escaping back to England with the help of the resistance.
A really nice guy too in person.

Thanks Seafury fan.
This forum is great.
He’s still organising the airshow, but doesn’t look so great these days
Of course not flying anymore since the accident in the Spit.

A New Zealand contributer 🙂 😀 Welcome turbo_NZ
Great to see some stuff from Wanaka. Although we’re lucky to have such variety in the UK, it’s good to hear about the lively warbird scene in NZ.
Any idea how Tim Wallis is fairing nowdays? He did so much for restorations.

What’s with the codes on TB863? Were they some sort of film markings?

Hi Jorgo,
Thanks for the compliment
Its very popualr for the motorhomes (campervans) up there.
I am so looking forward to Warbirds Over Wanaka 2004.
Will take camera and lots of pics to share here.
My favourite aircraft have to be the Polikapovs (both I-16 and 153). They are absolutley amazing to see and hear.
Cheers
