Picture- Men At Work

You don’t often get to see the ground staff at work, so here are some, busy loading a 767 for it’s journey to Calgary.

Anyone know what that tiny open flap to the right of the cargo door is ?

When you see concorde keep you eye on it… It crosses the road more often than any other plane. Though so does the 747… usually 2 every 2-3 hours? something like that

A few great pics there Ren. Does anyone know how often you are likely to see an aircraft cross the road on the 27 end at Heathrow? It’s just I have been up there a few times and got excited when an aircraft gets a tug pulled up to it, and then they never seem to move.

She certainly does, although the nose graphic on this one needs a spot of attention…

Indeed I did, all 300mm’s worth or 460mm or so as it turns out on the digital format.

I had a friend who used to work airside at GLA, he once delivered a bonded trolley to an Atlanta Icelandic 747 that was doing holiday charters. Once on board he reckoned there wasn’t two seats that had the same upholstery on them.

There was another airline… Royal Air I think ? , that had planes so old they’d commonly develop tech problems shortly after departure and turn back, normally resulting in a 24 wait for the passengers in the terminal.

And when you come to LHR, hopefully a crossing the road shot. 😀

Funnily enough Fred Seggie was talking yesterday about getting an “across the road” shot of the Continental 764 this morning as an experiment. I often shoot my GLA stuff from the spot where I got the Tupolev and AA 767 arrivals yesterday morning. It’s the final approach to runway 23 and crosses the old Greenock Road which is chocka at that particular time (8-9pm).

I must find out how he got on.

It’s a style I enjoy as well Wys, so you can expect to see plenty more of the same from me in the coming weeks. Any requests ?

Men At Work??? The pic isn’t appropriate, the plane should be Australian 😀 (Think of the song)

And yes, the little doos must be to open the cargo door, because if not: 1) it will hurt a lot when you open it, and you’ll have some difficulties to close it 🙂

Nice pic Ren.

Now that this Zoom 767 has adopted the C-GZUM reg, which the A320 had, will the 320 be given a new reg or given back to Monarch?

Hi,

Ren Frew, it is the switch to open/close the cargo door (I think!). Another great pic!
