Pictures from Chicago O'Hare 11/11/04

The thread title explains this batch. It sure was a nice day to be flying. 🙂

This day included the first time I’ve seen the EMB-170 in a UAL livery. This aircraft is operated by Chautauqua Airlines.

Enjoy

Yeah independence air livery is one of the smartest around!

I agree. I hope load factors improve as I think they could become a force in the domestic market.

Great pictures WD; always interesting to see non-UK airports on here 🙂 😀

I think it goes back and forth between ORD and ATL yearly.

On the way out we had a funny comment by the ORD Departure controller. It’s common as you travel to the east over Lake Michigan to stay on the ORD frequencies for a while until they can climb you to an intermediate altitude. Well usually, as you can imagine, the frequency is busy with radio chatter as both ORD and MDW traffic depart through the airspace. For some reason it was dead quiet on the frequency that afternoon.

After what seemed like an eternity I checked back on, “Chicago, you still there?”

He came back quickly, “Yup, I’m still here.”

“Just checking, it’s sure is strange for it to be this quiet on frequency.”

“Yeah, it’s almost like Atlanta.”

😀 I got a real kick out of that.

LOL!

LHR is still the busiest in terms of international traffic.

Whiskey Delta,

When I say tradtion with window blinds, I mean that here in the UK its something we don’t do. Blinds have to be open for take off and landing, where as US airlines don’t seem to mind if they are open or closed! Just an observation. I see so many US aircraft landing and taking off with them closed!
