I was just watching a bit of Piece of Cake and noticed that, during the first dogfight in Episode 5, one of the pilots (Pip Patterson) jumps from his Spitfire. Now, I wondered at first if this was the then state-of-the-art computer technology or blue screen, or some other pre-CGI chicanery, but then I got to thinking about the BofB Spitfire thread from a while back which all started because of this image:

and the curious bulge above the port wing which was later discovered to be a rig of some kind for releasing dummies.
I now cannot find the thread, but wondered whether this might be one of the bits of footage shot, and eventually not used, showing this apparatus in action??

😀 Thanks for that,i have put in my “watched “section.I do have another option hopefully soon,i recorded it on video when it was on and im hoping to get a dvd recorder somepoint soon but it’s nice to get it without the adverts and proper audio selection and chaptering etc.
I shall keep my eyes open, 😀

Trumper – The DVD release I have, which I bought from Canadian Amazon, is region-free, or ‘multi-zoned’ and plays fine here on my Region 4 player. Well worth the purchase too, though the DVD is not the crispest print they could have made, looks like video.

on ebay,like just about anything you can think of, appears to be region 1 only though!
I have kept my eye on a couple on there recently but they could also be NTSC format rather than PAL ,just have to be a bit careful,thanks again 😀
