In post No 3 the link to Hawkertempest.se has a slight inaccuracy in that they say he was in Algeria in the early 60’s.
In the preface to ‘Leo 25’ PC says…
”Leo 25 Airborne is the story of an officer in the reserve recalled for flying duties in Algeria 1956-57.It is not an autobiography, nor is it a work of fiction”
”The principle episodes in the story are authentic and taken from my own experience”
He also says that the pseudonyms and likenesses to those serving in Algeria are ‘purely coincidental’
So it is more or less an autobio with the names changed.
The book was originally published in 1960 as ‘Appui Feu sur L’Oed Hammail’
and the translation published 1962.
What is the exact translation of the original title I wonder.. any french speakers care to translate???

He also wrote a novel…. ‘Leo 25 Airborne’ published by Chatto and Windus 1962,based on his experiences whilst serving in Algeria in the fifties.
Not many novels have photos of Broussards,P47’s etc amongst the text.
This photo was taken during the time he was on ops in Algeria.

He also has a lesser known book called ‘Flames in the Sky’ which is a series of short stories about little heard of aerial combats from around the World.

His obituary gives a young picture, probably not what you are looking for.

He was born in Brazil, I did not know that. Here is a better picture.
