PIK – UEFA CUP (oh no not more!!!!)

Finally got some time today to dig into my near 400 shots from squelchy Prestwick yesterday, personally I’m glad it was raining and dull rather than just plain dull otherwise my camera would have been in my bag for most of the day. I actually wore welly boots for the first time in years.

Wednesday was all about spray shots from the Football Charters arriving on a very wet Runway and they varied from a little misting right up to really good mini Niagra’s under the Wings.

For most of the day I was on 200 ISO to keep the shutter speed up hence the amount of time it has taken me to remove the additional grain from them.

Here’s the first lot and I’ll probably add some more tomorrow if I have them time to sort some more out.

Fred – fantastic shots! The levels look great given the difficult weather conditions. Some nice spray, too!

All the best,

Actually I wasn’t too bad at all I had my Rucksack with the gear in a bin bag folded over to keep it dry and an umbrella sitting over it, had an even bigger brolly over my head and the wellies kept my feet dry.

Yesterday was the first time I had properly used the Canon 100-400mm lense and Camera body “rain jacket” I bought on ebay and what a difference it made. No need to worry about rain getting in and my big lense hood kept the rain from getting on to the front of the lense, most important to keep that dry or the pictures look soft.

I would recommend buying one the these camera “rain jackets” it’s far better than a towel of a polly bag.

Yes RAB that one and the Blue Panorama 767 were probably the best two displays of the day.

It’s so much better to get these kind of shots with arrivals than departures, worth getting wet for to get soemthing a little different. At least rain means you don’t lose your photos to heat haze.
