Pilot Officer S R E Weatherley 53 Squadron

Hi all,
I am trying to discover what caused the death of Stan Weatherley.
He was a pilot officer with 53 Squadron flying Blenheims from Thorney Island.
He was killed on 6th December 1940.
Does anyone know if this was the result of action or an accident?
He was very friendly with Joce Millard when they were training together at Hatfield.
Many thanks in advance
Gerry

Blimey that was quick!!
Many thanks Ross. I notice you spelt the surname without the y on the end.
So poor old Stan was killed in an accident – what a waste.
Many thanks
