At lunchtime, Pink Lady with her P-51 escort flew low over our house, it was most impressive, I would have reported sooner but I was watching the badly presented RAF 90 programme on BBC 1, I thought it was quite embarrasing, get a grip BBC.

Just curious, is the finish of the Liberty Belle historically authentic, I can’t find any WWII pics of this aircraft? I’m asking this, because the design of the pin-up looks very modern to me.
Other question I’m always asking myself about these warbirds: why are they today silver painted, as they were left natural metal during WWII?
Being painted silver protects the metal better than being bare metal finish, it didn’t really matter in wartime about that.

Here is a picture of the glass wall borrowed from the Duxford Update site. Would be pretty expensive to take it down to get one aircraft out for one weekend.

Anybody know how long pink lady is staying ??
Is she doing any other shows apart from leg ends ??
By: Manston Airport - 11th July 2008 at 19:11
I hope sally will be on the flightline so there will be a photo opp.
Is that why they took the blue bag off?
Maybe all B-17’s could run there engines on the ground well Sally B could run the ones that work 😎 Anyway I thought lst year there was post saying Pink lady was to be grounded?

Pink Lady if my favourite B-17!
She has a way of “speaking” which Sally B seems to have missing, if you understand what I mean!

No chance with Sally B, she is still minus the port outer. But the Belle is next to her on the flightline and Pink Lady is next to the Belle. Very nice!

Any chances she will formate with Liberty Belle? Hopefully Sally B can get back into the air?
