Piper Cub Hitting TV Reporter Footage Question

Apologies if this is the wrong forum, but since it involves an historic aircraft, I thought it would be ok to post here.

Does anyone know where this clip of a Piper Cub doing a low level flower bombing routine when the wing hits the TV reporter was filmed at and who the reporter was?

It’s been shown on “It will Be Alright on The Night” and other shows like that and I thought it was somewhere in the Westcountry.

Also, I’ve always taken it to be genuine, but it seems that some think it’s a hoax:

Typical of the Internet age for people to assume it’s a “faked” incident. I saw it on TV news over 20 years ago. They also interviewed the reporter in hospital – sitting up in bed with an enormous bandage around his head. I know the chap’s name but I can’t remember it at the moment.

There was also quite a dent in the leading edge of the wing!! 😮

Looks faked to me as the guy has his back to the plane (which he would have heard), he also has a bruise on the front of his head which is not where he was hit.

Yeah it’s like that video when a news reporter is doing a story at Duxford, with a pilot, one of the Hannah’s i believe, flying Spit MH434, it comes in so low he hits the ground and the Spitfire screams over at unbelievably low level 😀

If it was fake, the AIIB (Air Accident Investigation Branch) were in on it- there was a formal report in ‘Pilot’, and no doubt elsewhere.

He knew it was coming, just didn’t know it was going to whack him!

I’ve seen a similar video from another angle i think, with the cameraman facing the camera and seeing the aircraft come in behind and actually hit him, same aircraft etc but different angle, unless i just dreamt it

I seem to recall it was at Weston Super Mare, late 70’s or early 80’s.
Aeroplane is a Super Cub, but that is still historic (ish).

The camera man was years out of fashion then!!!
Definitely early 70s, and I have the feeling it was in the south of England somewhere (or the reporter was subsequently based at a south of England local TV station; just can’t remember which).
