Plane makes emergency landing after fight over reclining seat

I guess it can only happen ‘across the pond’ that one gets the ‘honour’ of F-16 ‘flankers’ for behaving atrociously.

I quite agree, though I have never personally witnessed any bad behaviour.
That said, reclining seats can be a blessed nuisance, as can those muppets who persist with talking on their stupid mobile phones after the crew have asked passengers to turn them off.

It seems that bad behaviour on aircraft is becoming more common. I think the senior steward should have access to a taser to zap these stupido passengers. Aggressive people on an airliner cannot be acceptable.

Alternatively, airlines providing a comfortable seat pitch would also alleviate the problem no end. :diablo:

There’s a very simple reasons for this over the top security, all the safety signs, apparently stupid rules (I’m generalizing here to daily life and business)… It is called lawsuits. People are always afraid to be sued for large amounts of money, so they act accordingly.

I have always wondered why the US goes OTT. A 2 fighters jet escort. As for the captain not being sure of the scope of the problem. Don’t the crew talk to one another anymore.
I blame the airline. 1. There should be locks on seats being reclined beyond a certain point. 2. They should have zapped both of them……… peace! 🙂

If this happened in a lot of other countries around the World, the other respective countries would no doubt be complaining about the cost to the tax payer for scrambling an air force jet. But in the States….I can’t help but think this decision would be praised and rewarded. “Brave US Air Force pilot risks life to ensure the freedom and safety of terror flight.” etc (note: personal opinion)

unfortunately not. Was quite a lot of drama though, if i remember correctly the ‘slapper’ was cuffed with plastic hand cuffs.
And I am sorry, it was SIN-DEL not MEL.

Bet you did not get a F-16 escort though
I have seen a passenger slap another passenger over this same issue on a SQ flight on the MEL-SIN sector.
