Whoops 😮 ,sorry,i remembered the P40 in the S-UE markings oneside and G-AS the other at Duxford many years ago,any idea why the markings are duplicated on 2 separate airframes?

They are two seperate aircraft. S-UE was looked after by OFMC before it returned the the US. G-AS is the TFC aircraft that went to france and then rejoined the collection later on.

Has GA-S left Duxford then? It was there last time I visited, although the paint scheme had changed some years ago.

Thanks for the comments again guys…

Must say, I used to do airshows alot, then a few years ago I kind of lost the plot. Last year I went to Old Warden for the first time in many years for the military pageant and thoroughly enjoyed it. Now I’m seriously back into the “warbird” shows in a big way, and am looking forward to Legends. My boss is in Orange County, which helps a great deal with business trips to the US!

Where’s the Destefani/MoF P47 these days? (yellow/black diamond nose). Last time I saw it fly I was at Willow Springs Raceway (near Mojave) when Bob Hannah beat the place up like it was going out of fashion….

A few more Chino pics for those who are interested… And thanks very much for the comments so far – sadly I can’t compete with the 5-P47s air-to-air!

I saw her last year, bought myself a ticket to California, job done….

OK, OK, since lowly minions like me don’t get to see her that often…

Has she been down then?????

Not that I’m aware of, but since she’s stuck Stateside, I guess we don’t get to see her an awful lot!
