I recently bought a Corolla Verso 2.0 D4D T3 as my Motorway cruiser,the private dealer I bought from insisted on his garage servicing it (I would much rather do it myself LOL!)…anyway right from the start I thought the oil looked a little too black for new stuff (even taking into account that its a diesel :)).
So monday being a lovely day I actually got round to doing it (no haynes manual !)
….the pleasant surprise – well it has a huge man sized spin on metal oil filter 😀 not one of those tree hugging PIT A55 element type ;).
The filter is so big I could not use a chain wrench to loosen it (no clearance on sump) and had to go buy a metal strangle wrench (metal strap wrench)
Just checked dipstick…still pristine after 200 miles 🙂
