Presuming that both types are leased rather than owned I bet the old 767’s cost the company a pittance compared to the shiny new A330’s.

Ah right guess it confirms it is true!
Sorry if its been asked before, but do the want to keep the 767s over the A330s, when A320/1s are the mainstray of the MYT flight. Thought it would be better for parts avaliablitly and training the pilots for the type?

Thats been the case for a year or so now. Apparently the reason that MyTravel can’t get rid of the A330’s is because of the toilets in the hold of the a/c.

When I flew on one, I thought that it was a wonderful and innovative use of space aboard the aircraft. Presumably the bean counters don’t think so, as it eliminates some seating and hold area ?

I’d have thought that the B767s would be the ones to go… I thought the A330s would have been quite desirable with the PAX with the PTVS downstairs toilets etc. But I suppose nothing can really surprise you with MyTravel!

Weren’t they one of (If not THE only) that went with downstairs toilets on their A330s? A big mistake now!

Is that true Allen? I would be quite surprised if they were.

I heard this too, but apparently they’re having difficulty in selling them due to the ‘underground’ toilets in the planes. The other airlines don’t seem to want them configured like that

The 767’s aren’t very nice from what i remember! I flew on one with Airtours, all the way to Australia! Bad idea, but atleast we got to stop twice. Very cramped, standard IFE (nothing special like PTV’s) and generally worn out. Designed more for high demand holiday routes I think, such as Ibiza, not long-haul.

I would say that you are much more likely you get a 763.
I have no experience of flying one, but I know that they have no PTVs.

It will most probably be a 763 or an A330.
