Hello,
Advice sought from a guru please. My Windows Media Player 11 plays saved Windows Media Player video files with a substantial red tinge, with reduced contrast and reduced pixel content.
I have all the latest updates and my PC is virus free according to the latest AVG daily check. I’ve checked performance settings in ‘Tools’ of the Player and nothing seems untoward. I’ve also checked on the MS Help & Support Cte for the player and they’ve nothing to add that I can see. DVD playback using the player is good.
This is all very strange – my previous versions have run fine (I’m running a new PC with Zone Alarm running in the background). I’m wondering why previously recorded files now appear this way. They were transferred across using an external hard drive. A problem maybe occurred during this process?
Over to you, thanks for any leads.

Seafuryfan,
That sounds more like a Graphics Card issue then WM11. If you have an ATI card, check the color level in your Catalyst Control. Set the colors and video back to the default action.

I think you should do away with Media player and go for media player classic and get the right codecs for it like ffdshow or that CCPcodecpack.

check if you have installed latest Directx and your Graphic card driver is up to date.
