Has anyone heard about Microsoft recalling every product to do with FLight sim they have? There has been speculation that the terrosits used FS2000 and the books that go with it in training!!
Please tell me your views on this because i had just pre-ordered a copy of FS2002 the day before and now they have called of the release until a later date which some people say is going to be this time NEXT YEAR!!!!!

RE: PLEASE READ, it is important
Flight sim is nothing like flying, the only thing it is good for is getting used to the instruments and knowing cockpit layout, flying wise all the flight characteristics are screwed!! The weather hadly has any affect, in real life even the temperature makes the aircraft and engine perform and behave differently. And before anyone asks I’m doing my PPL on PA-38s so I know what I’m on about!!

Urban myth. Flight simulator by MS in any form does not form the basis of an accurate simulation in any way and, in fact, the manual states that “this publication is not suitable for flight training purposes in any way”.

I forgot to add that i wouldn’t have been able to hold the Cessna straight in the air, even if i knew where the instruments were..

Well… i really doubt that FS could be used for such purposes. I have myself Flight Sim, and, some years ago, i was with a friend in a cessna, and he let me the commands for one minute. I can assure you that flying the real has NOTHING to do with the flight sim. On the real plane, when you “push the stick” to the right, you have to wait one second for a reaction. The sim isn’t so.
The fact is that FS could be used, maybe, as a “procedural trainer”, but… I’d rather guess thet in this case, it would be a marketing trick. The game sure wouldn’t sell much in the context, remember that the majority of potential customers are between 12 and 16. So…
Sincerly yours,
