Plebgate

These officers who are appearing before MPs today,
Why are they not on trial for misconduct?

Unbelievable !

And, as I understand it, had done so on many previous occasions. Hence Mitchell’s reaction when they refused. In any case nothing that happened excuses their subsequent actions. I think the police too often forget that they are there to serve, to enforce the laws of the land on our behalf, not to dictate.

…….and if the police had just opened the gates to Downing Street in the first place, none of this would have happened.

The job they are PAID to do !

Of course, if Mitchell had been polite to the officers in the first place then none of this would have happened.

They should be sacked, and kiss goodbye to their pensions, I would also make them compensate him for lost earning, God knows how much he lost in ministerial wages etc

But have we got a Home Secretary with the balls (proverbial in her case of course) to do anything about it?

Yes good pennies of course, but its getting that the bad pennies have been getting away with it for years.

As in the words of Elvis Costello: Dont start me talking, I could talk all night.

These matters described have been going on for fifty years that I know of. What is forgotten is that ‘you need a crook to catch a crook’.

Nothing changes. Years ago my father was harrassed by them after he won a case in court for wrongful prosecution. It stopped when he wrote to the Chief Constable threatening to take the matter public with independent witnesses. No acknowledgement of his letter, no apology but miraculously no further harassment.

For this and other reasons I have never held the police in much esteem but any that they had must have been utterly lost by this and other examples in recent years. And as in so many walks of life it’s the bad penny ruining it for the good, of which I am sure there are many.

I just cannot believe that they “LIED” giving misleading accounts of a meeting with former cabinet minister Andrew Mitchell who recorded the interview between himself and the three officers.
Sgt Chris Jones, I watched him live, lie through his teeth, it just makes you wonder how many other lies he has told lets say in court on oath against people do not have Keith Vaz’s committee to bring it out in the public eye.
I do know of some underhanded manipulation of evidence by Met officers against a personal friend of mine which is slowly going forward and hopefully arrives with the officers involved going to court to prove their innocence or not.

The IPCC are not really fit for purpose it seems.

They look after their own, TA, always have and always will if they have anything to do with it. Schy***ers most of them. Present members of this parish excepted, of course!!
