Iberia cancelled a flight from Vigo/Peinador to Madrid yesterday because the pilots had been detained on friday night, “El Mundo” newspaper tells today in its internet website http://WWW.ELMUNDO.ES
On Friday night, the two pilots were in a pub, in Vigo.During a rutinary inspection, policemen asked them for the ID card, the pilots refused so they were taken to a police station for identification.
The police informed that the pilots were DRUNK.
In Spain, carrying the ID card is compulsory.Ohtherwise, policemen can take you to the nearest police station, BUT this is very strange, it´s not very common being asked for the ID card if you are just drinking in a pub so I guess these huys were being rude, or clearly drunk.

Again it seems that is another chapter in the war pilots vsmanagement team. The pilots had been bringing the incidents to the public opinion to embarrash the board of directors. A match between these two organizations. One point….but it´s quite odd, that ID were asked for in a pub (only to them) and it seems that they could drink because it was more than 12 hours before the flight. Why did the police know they were pilots?. Ambush?. One point for the other team. And of course many pilots (I don´t want to say….all) drink. I have seem them. It´s very common the coke tin on the table and the rose wine in the cup just to cheat.

Would they be then more drunk thean a BA pilot perhaps then if they all drank before flights since the low cost would do more flights per day!!
KELTIC IS RIGHT, all pilots drink before flights. Mine drank a bottle of water once and another time he had a coffee!!

I go for the rude theory. All pilots drink before flights but I seriously doubt that there were drunk. Never trust newspapers.
